DO NOT take Bags,Phones along with you to the OFC appointment or on the VISA interview day !! they won't allow actually . Only a Few Consulates provide locker facility, so inquire about the consulate you are going to attend. Carry all your Documents in HARMONIUM File or a good office file where in you can keep all your documents. Arrive at the Consulate Half an hour before your appointment time. . I Have taken IELTS twice and scored 7 ( 7l , 6.5 r , 7.5 w , 7.5 speaking ) in the second attempt. My first attempt score was 6.5 ( 6,6,7,7) . So, One day, I got a msg from a person ( I don't know how he came to know me ) saying that he wrote ielts 7 times but still he couldn't score enough like 6.5 or 7 :/ . The very next day I have created the IELTS Group ( I hope you have seen my earlier posts in this group. Please don't think that its spam. My Interview  goes like this :

VO is around 40-45 !

Me:  Stepped forward ( He din't even called me to come forward)

        and Said:  Very Good morning Officer ( He dressed like a Professional , so I had to call him OFFICER    Intentionally)

VO : Good Morning.

Me : Passed my passport first ( he din't asked me )

VO : I need ur i20 too .

Me ; passed.

Vo :  So, you are going to do your Masters.

Me : Yes sir  ( With a big smile ^_^ )

VO : tell me how masters is going to help you ?

Me : Told very enthusiastically that it was dream to do research  and solve real life problems  and invent  technologies which are conducive to Green Environment and then to work in a relevant company.

VO : that sounds cool  :) . What are your academics , Backlogs ?

Me : Said CONFIDENTLY ;) : Sir, I Have Secured 75% First class with Distinction and ' 0 ' Backlogs .

VO ; How are u going to fund your educaton.

ME : Told  that we get annual income from various sources ( sources explained)

VO : Have a Happy Stay in US.

ME : Thank you so much sir.

VO : Your Welcome, I din't check anything ! You deserve it !   (  indeed he din't asked me anything as if I was answering  confidently ) .

Me : Sir, Can I ask you few questions ?

VO : Yea, Sure. !

Me : Sir, You are the very special person in my life as if you have approved my VISA. Could I know your mail id or Phone number ? . I am going to write a Book on my journey till US. and I would like to give you the writers copy.  :)  :)

VO : That sounds good ! We will be really happy to hear from people like you ! . But I am not supposed to give my contact details.

Me : Could I know your name sir ?

VO : My Name is "TOM " :)

Me : thank you so much sir. ( he was trying to search for some card or so in his BLAZER . But couldn't find it :P . After checking in the Window he gave me a piece of paper where there was  an official mail id on it - Chennai Consulate head. )

VO: here it is : you can send it to this mail id and we( the US Counslate)  will be happy  to hear from you !

Me : Thanked him and Came out ! :)  Called my family and told about what has happened :) .

Filling Application to University and till US VISA !! all together in ONE Post ! Must check out ! :)

1. Sort out universities which match ur profile . prerequisites for universities might be like : GRE cutoff, Toefl/ielts cutoff and some other's.

2. after sorting. try to fill online applications to those universities ( each might take utmost 1/2 hour ).

3. pay fee.

4.

send transcripts,resume,passport xerox copies,statement of purpose . keep all these in big cover A4 and then send it to the university address which will be for admissions.

5. next step is getting decision from university.

6. once u get admission you will need to fill Ds -160 form

Tips for F1 Visa Interview !! Must Read !

Some information about Visa Interview.

1)Patience is very important.

2)Listen the question completely asked by the VISA Officer.But do not excite in giving away your answer immediately.Because they have to understand your accent too.

3)In case if you do not understand the question or its not audible to hear the question......then you can ask them to repeat the question.But do not give the answer which is out of topic.There is no problem in asking the question to be repeated.And also do not believe that your visa was rejected by asking the question to be repeated several times--(In the case of students who are rejected by this reason)

4)Answer loudly and clearly to the question asked by the VISA OFFICER(Sometimes that shows your confident enough and also the questions asked are few ). 

5)Majority of the Students do have some problems like being Tensed,Nervous,Anxiety like (What will be my future if I don't get VISA),Pressure.You guys have to keep all these problems aside(Simply Forget).Attend the Visa Interview with positive,gentle attitude that you continuously remind yourself that you will get VISA. 

6)Your Visa is not completely depended on your GRE or Toefl or Ielts or Pte. Its all about how you answer to the question appropriately. Answer according to the question but do not give further or unnecessary information until unless asked by the visa officer.

7)Backlogs questions related (If you have more backlogs,then you have to compromise with GOOD GRE SCORE).In most cases it works.

8)Wishing your Visa Officer.They may give you reply or may not.If they don't give reply even-though you wish them do not get disappointed.(It may reduce your confidence , attention level).Here the PATIENCE plays a role.

Finally , i would suggest you only one Point irrespective of all of above . You should convince the Visa Officer :) that you are going to study there :) that's all !!
